Trick Daddy‘s estranged wife has said that the Liberty City rapper’s signature gold teeth never did anything for her, and that he was too “thug” when they met.
Joy Young, whom Trick Daddy married in 2003 but contentiously divorced in 2022, recently stopped by the We In Miami Podcast and said she divorced Trick because she was “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
Her cousin Trina, who is also a longtime friend of Trick, chimed in to say that Joy didn’t even like the “I’m A Thug” rapper when they first met. “She didn’t like the teeth, she didn’t like that he smoked, she didn’t like nothing,” Trina said.
“I ain’t gonna lie, I like a little thug or whatever, but he was a big, like a thug thug,” Young added.
As a supporting cast member on Love & Hip Hop Miami, Joy’s storyline largely revolved around her difficult divorce from Trick, who in April finally replaced the aforementioned gold teeth with real ones via a $60,000 procedure.
Trick will apparently document the procedure in the forthcoming season of the reality TV series, and his dental surgeon Danielle Noguera told TMZ the rapper was suffering from a severe bout of tooth decay prior to removing his gold teeth.
In other news, Trick Daddy has continued to promote his newest cooking show, I Got My Pots, and recently caused some upset with Uncle Murda after he accused the rapper of attempting to use the tragedies of other people’s lives to turn a profit via his annual “Rap Up” tracks.
“Viral is something that you do accidentally,” Trick said in a February episode of his show. “Anybody that tries to go viral, you are considered, to me, as a clown. You’re a joke. You’re a fool. You’re a gimmick. You’re a fraud. You catfish.”
He then addressed Uncle Murda directly and referred to him as “the No. 1 clown for the last five years.”
Murda responded by laughing off the aggression on Instagram, writing: “This shit got me rolling [crying laughing emojis]. Dammmm all that my nigga @trickdaddydollars mad at me cause I called him a coke head #RapUp2023Intro”
