Post Malone has provided an opportunity of a lifetime to a young Scottish musician, as well as something that everyone longs for — a home.
On Wednesday (May 17), BBC News reported that after Post Malone caught singer-songwriter Gregor Hunter Coleman’s performance at Glasgow’s Wunderbar, the pair immediately hit it off.
Coleman said the Stoney rapper asked if he would join him for a drink. However, Coleman initially declined because he was saving money to buy a house.
As the conversation continued, Coleman was then asked to perform at an exclusive after-party with Posty, which he realized was an “opportunity of a lifetime.” He told BBC News that the rapper/singer then offered to help him with his house deposit, an encounter he called “bizarre.”
While the singer did not reveal how much Post Malone donated, he did want to dispel the rumor that Post had bought him a home, when in fact, the rapper simply made a generous donation toward his down payment.
“There were things going around saying he’d bought me a house. Obviously this has helped towards me now having a deposit,” he said.
Coleman also claimed the rapper is open to listening to his music, which he hopes will benefit his career.
“There’s a pressure now that I need to get good songs done, I need to get something happening with it rather than just being, like, I met Post Malone and back to the pub,” he said. “Hopefully he’s still interested and he still wants to hear them and he likes them. If not then it’s back to the drawing board.”
In addition, Coleman shared a photo via Instagram of his encounter with Post Malone, calling it “a life-changing experience.”
“Never thought whilst heading out the door with my guitar on Friday night for my gig at @wunderbarglasgow that I’d meet @postmalone and have such a life-changing experience,” he began.
He added: “The hours spent with this gent chatting and jamming was life changing in itself, not to mention what followed. This could be my time to hit the ground running.”
It’s not the first time Post Malone has extended generosity to his fans. Last November, he aided a couple with their gender reveal while performing on stage.
