13 Going on 30 stars Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer reunite for 20th anniversary
“Forever thirty, flirty and thriving!” the trio wrote to their fans on social media
13 Going on 30 is turning 20 — and the stars of the movie have reunited to celebrate the occasion.
The beloved rom-com debuted in theaters on April 23, 2004, and to mark the 20th anniversary, castmates Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer posted a Zoom conversation on Instagram. “Twenty years. We are three Boomers braving zoom—because we want to thank you,” they wrote in a joint caption. “To every person who has loved this movie along with us: Thank You. We see you, we appreciate you and we love you back. Forever thirty, flirty and thriving!”
Kicking off the video, Greer added, “Hi! Thanks for watching our movie and loving it.”

The group went on to discuss how much times have changed since they shot the movie. “Twenty years ago, we were just on little, we had cell phones but they were still… ABC [to text],” Garner said.
“Everyone got their news from the same place,” Greer added.
“The newspaper!” Ruffalo exclaimed.
“When I get a zit now, I get really excited because I’m like, ‘I feel so young!'” Greer quipped.
Directed by Gary Winick, 13 Going on 30 follows a girl in 1987 (Christa B. Allen) who wishes to be “30, flirty, and thriving” on her 13th birthday, and wakes up the next day as her 30-year-old self (Garner) in 2004. Ruffalo plays the protagonist’s childhood best friend who becomes her love interest over the course of the movie, while Greer plays her pal Lucy. The film was a hit at the box office and a massive success on home video in the following years.
In reunion their video, the trio also discussed the intensity of the movie’s fandom. “There’s two kinds of people in the world,” Ruffalo said. “There’s Hulk people and there’s 13 Going on 30 people, and I get equal amounts — way more 13 Going on 30,” he corrected.
I met a little baby named Jenna yesterday after the movie,” Garner said.
“A woman came up to me the other day on the street… and told me that her and her friends do 13 Going on 30 cosplay,” Ruffalo added.
Greer also expressed surprise at learning about a now-famous actor who appeared in the film as a teenager. “Brie Larson was in our movie?” she asked.
“Yeah, she was a Six Chick,” Garner confirmed, referring to Ruffalo’s Avengers: Endgame costar playing one of the cruel clique members in the ’80s-set prologue of 13 Going on 30.
The actors concluded the video with appreciation for the fans. “Thank you, everyone! You’ve been the best fans of this movie that anyone can possibly have,” Ruffalo said.
“Number one! Best fans ever!” Greer added. The trio also briefly attempted to recreate their “Thriller” dance moves on the Zoom call.
Garner and Ruffalo, who also starred together in 2022’s The Adam Project, recently reunited for the latter’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony. “I have got to be here to honor and elucidate rom-com Ruffalo,” Garner said at the event, where the duo snapped photos of their “Thriller” moves once again.
