A fourteen-member Governing Council of the Zenith University College has been inaugurated in Accra to help in the growth of the University, identify and solve its teething challenges.
Mr. Justice Constant k. Hometowu, Justice of the High Court who inaugurated the Governing Council administered the Oath of Secrecy to the newly inaugurated members and admonished them to live up to their mandate.
The Council, chaired by Professor Jophus Anamoah-Mensah, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, would see to the administration of the College in achieving its mandate for which it was established.
The Professor in his speech urged all members to bring on board their diverse professional experience and expertise, to the benefit of the college.
He further stated that private institutions in the country were facing daunting challenges; hence, the inauguration of the board came at the right time.
The Chairman affirmed that with the caliber of people on the board, he had no doubt that the College would be positioned to be the best among the country.
“Already, the College has strong footprints in delivering quality education to Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians as whole, so I will call on the board to assist the College in that direction,” he said.
Other members of the Council include Professor Eugene Kofour Maafo Darteh as a representative from the University Cape Coast, Mr. Stephen Takyi-Asiedu, the Rector of the College, Mrs Margaret Adan, the Registrar, Dr. Pardikor Madjitey and Mr. Martin Doku, a Finance Officer in the College.
Others are Nii Oteng Granky I- an eminent citizen of La Dadekotopon, Mr. Alex Somuah- Founders representative, Madam Aaliyah Gibrine- Founders representative, Mr. Pual Kwasi Agyemang- representative of professional bodies, Alhaji Nasaru Abdul Rahman- Convocation, Mr. David Asumda- Convocation, Fiasal Ibrahim Cisse – Alumni and Emmanuel Apodei – SRC representative.
