Fans were over the moon about the actresses’ major fashion moments — and we can’t blame them!
- The cast of Dune: Part Two has been on their world tour and turning it out on the red carpet.
- Zendaya just wore her most daring and futuristic look yet in a vintage 1995 Mugler robot suit
- The actress joins newly announced cast member Anya Taylor-Joy, plus Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler and Florence Pugh in the Denis Villeneuve-directed movie, which is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name
Now this is the future of fashion!
So far, the Dune: Part Two press tour has doubled as a parade of high-fashion looks, especially from Zendaya, who always makes jaws drop with her daring style.
At the film’s London premiere on Thursday, the Emmy-winning actress, 27, exceeded expectations once again.
Styled by her longtime collaborator Law Roach, Zendaya made a grand entrance in an archival Mugler robot suit.
The vintage couture design, which debuted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week in 1995, is made of silver material arranged to look like robotic armor, as well as PVC-covered cutouts throughout, including on the breasts and butt cheeks.
Zendaya gave a cheeky view of the butt-baring silhouette as she posed on the carpet.
Zendaya’s version of the ensemble was styled almost exactly like the original, down to the metallic pumps. However, she ditched the headpiece in exchange for a sleek bun with side bangs and added on a large jewel necklace.
Fans online shared how obsessed they were with the outfit, one writing on X (formerly Twitter): “Zendaya shook me out my senses [sic]. I am never gonna opt for basic ever again.”
The fashion show didn’t stop there though. Zendaya changed into a Mugler black gown with an elegant cowl neckline. She accessorized with vintage Bulgari earrings and an emerald ring.
Her avant-garde appearance comes hours after she was announced one of the four co-chairs of the 2024 Met Gala. The Disney alum (who is a five-time attendee, per Vogue) will join Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue’s Anna Wintour, a longtime holder of the position.
The theme of the high-profile event on May 6 is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” with the dress code being “The Garden of Time.”
What made the premiere even more shocking was a surprise appearance by Anya-Taylor Joy, who, according to Variety, is confirmed to have a major role in the film. Rumors began popping up online about the actress’ participation after fans noticed the Denis Villeneuve-project included in the actress’ portfolio on Letterboxd, which has since been removed per Variety.
Taylor-Joy, 27, channeled avant-garde bridal wear in a custom Dior look complete with a sheer white cotton organdy cape with a hood. It was draped over a plunging pleated silk gown. She completed the look with open-toe Dior shoes.
Dune: Part Two is the second film in the action-packed franchise and also stars Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler. It will release on March 1.
