Veteran sound engineer and music producer, Emmanuel Mallet popularly known as Zapp Mallet has condemned Shatta Wale’s attitude at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
According to Zapp Mallet, Shatta Wale’s conduct was appalling for going on stage and added that he had no business on stage.
“It’s a sad day for Ghana music…Shatta’s conduct was very appalling …why was he going on the stage? Some people think awards belong to them… Kumi Guitar and Dada Hafco should’ve all stormed the stage when Shatta won the Highlife song of the year. One person cannot win all the awards, you will win and lose some that how it goes”, he said.
This backlash by the legendary music producer comes after an unfortunate incident happened at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when Stonebwoy was crowned the Reggae Dancehall Artist of the year.
As Stonebwoy was about to give his acceptance speech, Shatta Wale stormed the stage with his entourage for intentions best known to him.
Blakk Cedi, manager of Stonebwoy tried to prevent Shatta Wale’s entourage from climbing the stage which resulted in a scuffle that lasted for almost 30 minutes.
Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage but his team members tried to shield the gun. Dignitaries present including Jackie Appiah, Dope Nation, Sarkodie among several others rushed out of the premises.
Currently, the two musicians have been invited to the Tesano Police station for questioning as investigations are underway.
