Singer Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, has expressed frustration about her music career stating that she’s tempted to quit making music because she feels it’s not fetching her money.
“I don’t have money for Publicity… I am spending in this thing and I am tired of putting my money in something that I do not have faith in,” she said in a video on her YouTube page.
Reacting to her resentment, the CEO of Made Men Music Group (MMMG), Ubi Franklin says Waje’s inability to succeed in the music industry is due to the fact that she acts as an artiste and a label simultaneously.
As an artiste manager and record label founder, Ubi believes although the singer is very talented and works very hard, it’s tough for one to sing and fund their own songs.
Ubi shared in Waje’s frustration on Twitter as he noted that he feels very sad for the singer.
“Waje works really hard,” he tweeted. “I have been in different studio sessions with her, she won’t leave that studio if the song doesn’t sound right or she gets what she wants.
“Unfortunately, it’s not easy to be the Artiste and the Label (singing and looking for money for promotion.”
Ayo it’s really sad. This is the reason why when labels spend money on a talent and he/she leaves the label it’s always bad time for the label, it’s not easy to fund music. Waje is her own label she spends on everything herself so I can imagine what she is going through. https://t.co/rPty0jxecp
