Yemi Alade becomes first female African artiste to hit 1 million YouTube subscribers

Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade has marked her name in history books as the first female African musician to hit 1 million individual subscribers on Youtube.

The “oh my gosh” hit maker announced this feat on her instagram page while thanking God and her fans for making it possible.

Yemi stated in her post that she started making music 6 years ago and so far it has been an amazing journey.

“God is the GREATEST, started this journey six years ago. Thanks to everyone streaming/watching my videos and music. God bless us all.” she said.

Yemi Alade is one of the most decorated artistes in Africa with very impressive streaming numbers on Youtube and other streaming platforms.

Her popular song “Johnny” hit 100 million views on Youtube earlier this year.

Her second highest “Na Gode” stands at 25 million views and counting.

Yemi Alade has now joined an elite group of African entertainers who have over one million subscribers on Youtube including the defunct twin group P-Square (1.2 million), Davido (1.5 million) and Diamond Platnumz (2.1 million).
