Fans have been attempting to speak a potential Verzuz battle between R&B titans Usher and Chris Brown into existence for quite some time.
Usher addressed the potential matchup in an interview with E!’s Daily Pop show earlier this week after the host asked him about potentially participating in a battle against the likes of Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Trey Songz.
The “Yeah!” singer confirmed there’s nothing scheduled in the Verzuz world but teased the possibility of doing something in the future related to a battle between artists with live performances involved.
“There was a flyer that was put together. It’s not official, no, we’re not doing that,” Usher explained. “But I can appreciate what I see. Nah, there’s no Verzuz. I don’t think y’all ready for nothing like that. You might be ready for something like that on stage, maybe in the future. Stay tuned.”
Chris Brown recently discussed the possible battle when stopped by Drink Champs in June. The “Go Crazy” singer said the only person fans would want to see him face off with would be Usher in a Verzuz, but that he’d like the “battle” to be more of a celebratory occasion for both of their decorated catalogs.
“They want me to do it with Usher,” he said. “It only makes sense, but it’s got to make more sense. I can’t act like he ain’t a pioneer as well– that’s Usher. I think it would be something good for the fans.”

Chris Brown said he would put Usher on his R&B Mount Rushmore alongside Michael Jackson, and he recently gave out his picks for his rap Mount Rushmore during an interview with the L.A. Leakers.
“JAY-Z, Nas, Big L and 2Pac. Skrrt, put Biggie in the spot of Nas!” Brown exclaimed. “I love Nas, damn, it’s fuckin’ up! Damn, hold up I’m sorry. Rakim in there too, I’m sorry! That’s all mine. Everybody I said, those are in my Mt. Rushmore. I made my own Mt. Rushmore.”
