Trio present $44k academic scholarship to Chief Imam’s office

The Chairman of Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Abdul Salamu Amadu in collaboration with the Chairman for the Centre for Non-Destructive Testing, Mr Harris Owusu and dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy have donated ten academic scholarships worth $44,000 to the Office of the National Chief Imam.

Alhaji Amadu and Mr Owusu handed over the scholarship reserved for applicants who want to study of Oil and Gas programmes to the Chief Imam, His Eminence, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu at a ceremony on Saturday in Accra.

They said the donation was in support of the centenary birthday celebration of His Eminence, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu who they described as the “leading advocate for education in Zongo communities”.

“We urge Ghanaians resident in Zongo communities to apply for these scholarships with the following criteria; a good command of the English language, good grades in mathematics and two referees including a local Imam and a community chief,” Alhaji Amadu said.

“All correspondence regarding the scholarship should be directed to the Office of the National Chief Imam”.

THe Chief Imam expressed gratitude to the trio and said education was a vital tool for improving the lives of all residents of Zongo communities.
