Travis Kelce is impressed by Taylor Swift’s ability to put everyone at ease.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end paid his girlfriend of more than a year a sweet compliment on the Wednesday, Jan. 29 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
The Kelce brothers invited pals Brandon Borders and Jake Chatzky, who are known on the show as “Intern Brandon” and “Jets Jake” to discuss their recent cameo in the VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium where they watched the Chiefs earn their spot in the upcoming Super Bowl by defeating the Buffalo Bills.
“We walked in the door, and — I’ll give this away — she said our names immediately,” Brandon said of Swift in the private box. “It was like, ‘Oh my God. Brandon, Jake, finally!’ We were floored.”
The podcast intern noted that Swift’s acknowledgment “shook us immediately” and “threw” them.
“She knows how to break the ice. She does,” Travis proudly agreed. “She’s a pro at it.”
“Probably read that Jake and I were terrified,” Brandon then joked. “She’s like, ‘I’m sensing a lot of middle school dance energy from these two.’ ”
Brandon also shared that Swift was “very complimentary” of the New Heights podcast, which Travis assured fans she listens to every week.
“She gave us some creative compliments,” Brandon said. “Let me be very clear. You can’t tell me s— for the rest of my f—— life. I’m gonna be obnoxious. I’m like, do you know who you’re f—— talking to? We’re doing, we’re doing performance reviews at work, and we tell you something right now. F—— I’m not listening to a goddamn thing for another six years.”
Swift cheered on Travis as he helped the Chiefs secure a spot in the Super Bowl for the third year in a row on Sunday, Jan. 26, and later took to the field to share a kiss after the game.
The Chiefs will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, which takes place at the New Orleans Caesars Superdome on Sunday, Feb. 9.
