Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi has promised that her Ministry will provide a counselling session for the two Dancehall/Reggae artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
The Minister who witnessed the unfortunate incident that marred the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards event advised the two dancehall artistes to avoid engaging in unnecessary lyrical jabs that turn out as physical scuffle between their fans.
Barbara Oteng Gyasi described last Saturday’s scuffle between the SM boss and the Bhim Nation president as embarrassing for the music industry.
She also advised that their lyrical jabs should be a healthy competition that could project Ghana in a positive way to the global world.
According to her, “Charter House has raised the Ghanaian music to a different level with the awards scheme and with the 20th Anniversary; we were hoping it will create opportunities to draw more foreigners to the Ghanaian Music industry.
“The violence stole the joy of the event and brought a lot of disgrace because it was telecast on the international media but the Ministry will sit both artistes down to provide them with some counselling in order to channel their effort to help the industry,” she said at the 2019 International Museums Day celebration in Accra.
The Minister condemned the attitude displayed by the duo at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which has been criticised by many Ghanaians.
