Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has reduced police service to ridicule – MP
Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, James Agalga has rebuked the Director General of the Police CID for her recent ‘gaffe.’
Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in a recent television interview tried to clarify controversial statements she made regarding the whereabouts of three girls kidnapped last year.
The Criminal Investigations Department boss told the media that the police had located the girls kidnapped from the Western regional capital, Sekondi-Takoradi.

“We know where the girls are,” Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said unequivocally.
She proceeded to say the three girls will be reunited with their families soon.
A month after her declarations, the #BringBackOurTaadiGirls remains relevant because the girls haven’t been returned as promised by the recently promoted Commissioner of Police.
COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in an attempt to explain the failure to produce the girls despite her promise, said she only made those comments to give hope to the families of the girls.
‘Maybe people did not understand me well’ she said in Twi, a local language.
Her comments have, however, courted public anger with many demanding her resignation.
Speaking on the AM Show on the Joy News channel Wednesday, James Agalga said, “those asking for her axing are not far from right.”
James Agalga believes the CID boss should vacate her office
“In other countries, she would have done the honourable thing [and resigned],” the Builsa North MP said.
According to the legislator, it was not the place of the CID boss to go public on the progress of investigations in the police service.
There are communicators in the police service and there is a Director of Communications who is a very senior police officer, Agalga noted.
“That behaviour has exposed the entire police to public ridicule and it was her own voluntary act,” the MP said adding that “she ought to have been circumspect.”
