Taylor Swift is giving Swifties a warm greeting in Portugal!
The pop superstar, 34, surprised fans by speaking Portuguese at the opening of her first-ever show in Lisbon, Portugal, for her Eras tour on Friday, May 24.
In a video posted from the concert by The Hollywood Reporter on X (formerly Twitter), Swift addressed the cheering crowd as she stood center stage at the Estádio da Luz stadium where she performed.
“Muito obrigada,” she said as she placed her hand on her heart, which translates as “thank you very much” in English, causing the stadium to erupt in louder cheers. The singer then fanned herself as she continued to gaze at the crowd.
“Oh, Lisbon you … you’re making me feel amazing right now!” Swift added, clutching her chest again before continuing the show.
Swift also spoke Portuguese elsewhere during the concert as she urged fans to be helped in the crowd, according to videos posted on social media.
While performing “The Smallest Man in the World” from her new album The Tortured Poets Department, Swift appeared to ask security for help while standing center stage as she said, “Ayuda por favor,” and pointed out to the crowd, according to a second clip posted by THR on X.
