Taylor Swift kicked off her three Eras Tour shows in Warsaw, Poland, with the first night on Aug. 1—and even before she got on stage, the singer could feel the crowd’s energy.
The “Fortnight” songstress took a moment to address the crowd before getting into her show, saying, “I can already tell this crowd is on another level than what we’re used to,” leading to screams from all the fans.
“I could hear you screaming so loudly from my dressing room,” she went on, adding that the fans seemed to have a great time watching the opening band Paramore. Swift matched the audience’s energy as she geared up for her long concert, introducing her eras and ending with, “My name is Taylor!”

“Polish crowd always the loudest crowd on tour EXACTLY,” one Swiftie reacted, as another wrote, “polish people be quite [sic] challenge level impossible.”
Someone else chimed in, “POLISH CROWD IS ALWAYS THE BEST!!!”
One Swiftie even slipped a pun and a lyric reference to her song “Bejeweled” in as they joked, “She was polishing up real nice in the dressing room while they were screaming.”
Along with the excited fans, many also marked this show as special because of how the organizers and fans from all over respected a Polish tradition to mark 80 years since the Warsaw Uprising during World War II. At 5 p.m. local time, the city had a moment of silence as air raid sirens went off to memorialize those who tried to fight off German occupation during the summer of 1944.
After her first Warsaw concert on Aug. 1, Swift has two more shows in the city before she moves on to Vienna, Austria. After that, she will perform several shows in London, England, before a months-long break until she starts again in November.
