Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce proposal would be ‘fairytale end’ to Super Bowl and ‘billion-dollar contribution’ to NFL
THE possible engagement of the A-list couple on everyone’s lips could come after Super Bowl LVIII, a PR expert has said.
As Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce gears up to compete in Sunday’s big game, all eyes are on whether he’ll propose to superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift if he wins.
Eric Schiffer, chairman of the Los Angeles-based firm Reputation Management Consultants, spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about the relationship between Travis and Taylor and the possibility of a Super Bowl marriage proposal.
“I think the probability of there being a proposal in February is at its highest level if the Chiefs win,” Schiffer told The U.S. Sun.
“It would be the most amazing television moment of the century and would have people so excited and happy and overjoyed.
“So it certainly has crossed my mind and I’m sure Travis’ as well.
“If he’s planning on proposing in the next six months, you couldn’t have a better opportunity.”
A wedding chapel in Las Vegas has offered its services, free of charge if the couple wanted to exchange vows after the game on Sunday.
“Taylor and Travis – you two have enough on your plate so let us take care of you!” the Little White Wedding Chapel told TMZ.
“Whatever you want, our chapel is ready to take care of you!!”
On Monday when asked about another ring after winning the Super Bowl, Travis responded: “I’m focused on getting this ring.”
“That’s all that my mind’s focused on right now.”
TAYLOR AND THE NFL
Schiffer also discussed what Taylor’s presence and newfound passion for the game have done for the NFL approaching the Super Bowl.
“Taylor’s involvement in the Super Bowl is a near billion-dollar contribution because it will bring Gen Z, Millennial, and Gen X women to tune in and to watch longer and invite an international audience that would have never turned on the Super Bowl but want a glimpse of their fairytale,” the PR expert said.
The couple went public with their relationship in September 2023 when Taylor attended one of Travis’ games.
However, it is rumored that they started dating in July.
After the Chiefs’ Championship win against the Baltimore Ravens on January 28, Taylor met Travis on the field where they hugged and kissed with excitement.
In a clip filmed for Inside The NFL, Travis could be heard saying, “Tay, I’m gonna go enjoy this with the guys.”
After which fans on social media believed he said, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she responded.
“I love you so much it’s not even funny,” Travis appeared to say.
Taylor responded, “I’ve never been so proud of someone in my life, ever.”
CAN WE EXPECT A SUPER BOWL PERFORMANCE FROM SWIFT?
The PR expert also shared his thoughts on whether or not he thought Taylor would perform at the game.
“Many artists if they were in this situation might choose that,” Schiffer said.
“Taylor, given her great success and fame and her clear commitment to supporting her partner, won’t want to steal his moment.”
“But [she] will take an honorable backseat to ensure that Travis is the star and [is] showing him respect in that regard.”
Schiffer referenced the moment between the Kelce brothers after the championship game when she stepped back to let them embrace.
“She was well aware that had she been in that shot, it would’ve detracted from again Travis’ bond and the storyline that it included,” he explained.
“So she’s aware of Travis’ desire to be his own man and not be a latch-on and an after story, but rather to be his own storyline.
“That’s love, it’s mature love. And it will serve the relationship.”
Schiffer believes this type of action is likely something Taylor “probably learned from past relationships where it’s had her partners perhaps feeling overshadowed and her, in some ways, losing respect for them in the process.”
“It shows an understanding and a desire to respect each other’s stardom with love and with empathy and with compassion,” Schiffer continued.
Fans have been very concerned that Taylor may not make it to the game due to her show in Tokyo, Japan the night before.
