Prosecutors have told a court in Takoradi that the alleged serial kidnapper being held for the kidnapping of three women, Samuel Wills, has failed to lead investigators to arrest his supposed friend who he claimed assisted him to break jail last December.

The Nigerian had on February 12 claimed his friend whose name was given as Kwesi and one Police CID man who he could not name, assisted him to break from police cell last year and pleaded with the court to grant him time to lead investigators to the two people.

Mr. Michael Ampadu who is hearing the jailbreak case, adjourned it to February 18 to allow Wills help the Police arrest the said Kwesi and to also identify the said CIP official.

However, when the case resumed Monday, Head of Operations at the BNI, Lord Yaatwi told the Takoradi Market Circle District Court that Wills failed to show them the location of Kwesi, our correspondent Eric Adjei reported.

Though the BNI official said Wills led a team of investigators to Kansaworado where he claimed the said Kwesi was located, he failed to pinpoint the exact location of Kwesi.

“We went to Kansaworado where he [Samuel Wills] alleged Kwesi is but unfortunately he could not show the exact place the said Kwesi lives at Kansaworado” the BNI man told the court.

Mr. Yaatwi however, did not say when and how many times they went to the location given the investigators by the accused person.

In view of the circumstance, the judge adjourned the case to March 4 to allow investigators to continue the search for the said Kwesi.

‘Rogue’ CID

Meanwhile, prosecutors failed on Monday to give the court update on whether it has investigated the claim by the accused person that his escape was also aided by a police CID official.

The suspect, Samuel Wilson was arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations in an uncompleted building at Kansaworado, a suburb of Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis and handed over to the police for investigations.

Wilson who was being held at the Police cell allegedly used a hacksaw blade to cut some metal railings covering a ventilation duct to the cell Sunday evening and escaped without any of the seven officers on duty noticing.
