Ever since Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on live television, the world of stand-up comedy has become treacherous waters for comedians everywhere. Comedians such as Fazion Love and Tony Rock have felt compelled to explain what they would do to a heckler if one ever dared to rush the stage in an effort to inflict harm upon them. On the flip side, many celebrities such as Nicki Minaj have supported Smith’s actions in defending his wife’s honor. But what if an action film star as physically imposing as The Rock had been the one to crack a joke about one of Will Smith’s family members on stage?
Many have speculated that the outcome would have been much different if Chris Rock were Will Smith’s size or bigger. When rapper-turned-comedian T.I. was presented with the hypothetical scenario on the AllHipHopTV podcast, he tap-danced around the question at first before circling back around and saying, “I gotta go for the knees or something,” with a smile on his face.
