SZA has shown some love to Megan Thee Stallion following her shooting trial with Tory Lanez – as Lanez’s lawyers continue to maintain his innocence.
The SOS singer shared words of encouragement aimed at Meg on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (January 18), letting the Houston rapper know that she has her support as well as the support of so many others.
“Jus wanted to show some love to Meg. Your beautiful and we’re all rooting for you,” SZA wrote with a photo of Meg.

The post comes after Tory’s lawyer suggested “numerous errors” were made during the trial.
“Looking at this case, I certainly wish I had come in sooner as opposed to later,” Jose Baez told TMZ. “Unfortunately, this is the way that it is, but he’s got me now and I’m certainly willing to give him everything I have and hopefully, we’ll get the best result possible for him.
“As you may know, Tory has never been convicted of a crime and he has never had to deal with the circumstances that he’s dealing with, so the adjustment that he’s going through is new to him. To his credit, he’s listening to his lawyers, he’s an incredibly articulate young man.”
He added: “In all of that, there are things that certainly in the trial he wished had gone the other way … He’s trying his best to adjust to everything. In light of the fact that he’s never been in this situation before, it’s really a tough process to go through.”
Lanez was found guilty of three counts in connection to the alleged shooting, including felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
He faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as deportation to Canada. He will be sentenced on February 28.
Earlier this month, Soulja Boy called out people in the rap community who didn’t come to Megan Thee Stallion’s defense.
“Yall n-ggas out here shooting bitches and aint nobody gone say nothing? I’m the only n-gga in the whole rap game that’s gonna say something? Ok, cool,” Soulja Boy said.
He then took aim at Tory Lanez, calling the convicted felon a “bitch.”
“Well, Tory Lanez you a bitch. You a bitch n-gga on me,” he continued. “Yall watched this n-gga shoot this bitch and everybody said, ‘He aint do it.’ Man, fuck yall lame ass n-ggas.”
For her part, Meg has kept a low profile since the trial ended in December.
