Mr. Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Minister will on Thursday, June 13, 2019 break grounds for the commencement of a multi-million Cedi ICT and Library complex at Agona Swedru.
According to Apostle Emmanuel Coffie, chairman of the 2019 Akwambo Planning Committee, funds were being mobilized from corporate bodies, supermarkets, shop owners and citizens, both home and abroad to ensure the early completion of the project.
Speaking to the Media at Agona Swedru, Apostle Coffie said the Akwambo Festival of the Chiefs and people of Agona Swedru will be used to raise funds for the project scheduled to be completed next year.
The Festival will be under the theme “promoting quality education of the youth, the role of Traditional leaders, Clergy, parents and government”.
The Committee, he assured, was poised and will ensure accountability and transparency in the management of the funds and appealed to the people to contribute meaningfully to promote effective learning of ICT and also inculcate the habit of reading in school children.
Apostle Coffie said the project had been the number one priority of the President of Swedruman Council of Chiefs and Swedruhene, Ogidigram Okokobioko Asiedu Kobena Botwe I.
It had been on the drawing board for many years, and assured that this year‘s planning Committee was more determined to complete the project to benefit all students and even adults who were eager to study ICT.
He asked residents of the Area to endeavour to contribute their quota to help speed up the development of the town
