Suki Waterhouse Recalls ‘Very Intense’ Way She Met Robert Pattinson: ‘I Light Up When I’m Around Him’

The British star said living in Los Angeles “definitely became a lot more fun” when she met now-fiancé Robert Pattinson

The sparks between Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson didn’t take long to ignite.

In a cover interview for British Vogue’s August issue — where the 32-year-old actress and singer posed with her and Pattinson’s baby daughter — Waterhouse gave rare insight into her personal life, including her love story with now-fiancé Pattinson, 38.

“It was very, very intense,” she told the magazine of the Hollywood game night where she first met Pattinson in 2018. “There were lots of ‘big’ characters [there], real heavy-hitters. … Al Pacino was there. Javier [Bardem] and Penélope [Cruz] were there … and, you know, everyone was really acting.”

“I was sure that I’d met him a long time ago, but he didn’t think that we had,” Waterhouse continued of Pattinson, adding that during the event they “started giggling at the absurdity of the whole thing” to the point where they “got told off.”

“There was a director that separated us because we were laughing too much,” recalled the Daisy Jones & The Six star.

Waterhouse noted that she thinks she and The Batman actor “both sort of have the same slight uncomfortable-ness” that drew them together.

As for her perception of her partner now, “I think Rob’s quite funny,” she told British Vogue. “I light up when I’m around him.”

While living in Los Angeles “definitely became more fun” after she met Pattinson, the couple haven’t ruled out moving back to their native London. “Trust me, it’s at the forefront of our minds,” Waterhouse said.
