Suhana Khan’s father from Netflix’s ‘The Archies’ Alyy Khan says Zoya Akhtar trained her for a year amid film’s trolling
Netflix and Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies streamed on the giant from December 7. It received great reviews and reception but also had its share of critics. Amid the criticism and minor trolling, an interview of actor Alyy Khan, who plays Suhana Khan’s father in the film, has gone viral.
Much before the project was announced, he spoke about how the director trained all the debutants for a year before they faced the camera. He was quoted saying, “If you face the camera after a year of training and fail to be razor sharp in your performance, shame on you.”

While one netizen wrote, “1 year for what ? Lip syncing and half assed dancing? Bollywood is probably the only industry in which actors still lip sync to songs even in musical genre movies lol”, another wrote, “Hats off to brillant actor Aly Khan for tolerating these talentless nepos while Archies filming. I can feel for you.”
About The Archies
Zoya Akhtar had the most remarkable debut as a filmmaker with Luck By Chance, which turns 15 next month. She has a sharp (and stylish) eye for Bollywood, dysfunctional families (Dil Dhadakne Do), music (Gully Boy), friendship (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara), and nostalgia (The Archie comics). Her latest directorial has directly streamed on Netflix- The Archies.
It marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor, and actors like Dot and Vedang Raina. For anyone who’s aware of the world of the Archie comics, breathing them to life may not have been easy for the team; it’s about a group of friends in the 60s, it’s about the refreshing Riverdale, deforestation, dreams, conflicts, and chaos.
