Rapper and boss of Uptown Energy Yaa Pono is asking people to stop referring to him as a celebrity since he sees himself as a “street boy” rather than a celebrity.

According to the “Amen” hitmaker, even though he is popular and famous, he doesn’t want that to eat into his head and make him forget he came from the street.

Ponobiom made this comment in an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM where he said is a “town boy” and not celebrity especially when he is in Kumasi where he kick-started his career.

“Most of my fans in Kumasi didn’t know we could reach this far because we started life from the scratch,” Yaa Porno said.

“Apart from a musician being a celebrity, we are town boys. We are street boys so you must see me not as a celebrity but the people’s person who’s back and to rebase with the people”
