Stop pitching artistes against each other – Rocky Dawuni
The Ghanaian Grammy Award nominee, Rocky Dawuni, has asked the media to desist from inciting artistes against each other to enable their growth in the music industry.
The reggae sensation was on the January 25, 2019 edition of Zylofon’s Showbiz Agenda to promote his 7th Studio Album, “Beats of Zion”. He explained his statement that Ghana has the talent which isn’t the problem but how to breed and support these talents in order not to diffuse their energies as a result of beefing created by the media.
He continued that, he understands people do these pitching for media hype but then he thinks it isn’t healthy as the hearts of some young fans who see these artistes as role models and leaders are toyed with. According to him, when this continues, it’ll get to the time the next generation who are being exposed to hear things might turn on each other when they have guns.
He advised that everybody in the industry, from Shatta Wales to the Ampadus should be supported as according to him, this isn’t the time for joking. He added that the people who created the platforms for these young ones must be respected as they are being neglected by these young ones.
Rocky Dawuni earlier in the week on another medium revealed that the title “Beats of Zion” represents Africa and the ‘Zion’ in the title represents the place of Humanity. According to him the title was influenced by the art work of a band from Burundi he met at a concert.
