Comparisons have often been drawn between two artists of the same genre and these debates often divide the general populace.
Modernized highlife singer, Kwaisey Pee has often been likened several times to the maestro, Kojo Antwi and the ‘Mehi Odo’ hitmaker in an interview early in his career accepted the compliment and added that it’s a good feeling to be compared to s great legend and an admirer.
“I think Kojo Antwi is a great man, it’s good that they are comparing me to him. I take it as a compliment,” he said.
“Who wouldn’t want to be compared to one of the greatest? But at the same time, I would like to be known for me; as Kwaisey Pee.”
After years of been touted as Kojo Antwi’s successor, Kwaisey has finally drawn the line between the two citing that Ghanaians should stop comparing him to the legend since he chose his own path after Kojo Antwi during the early days of the comparisons was not happy with it.
In a new video sighted of Kwaisey Pee, the singer is heard saying Kojo Antwi was not happy with the initial comparison and with that, he chose to represent his own style of music though he loved his music.
As to why Kojo Antwi was not happy with the comparison, he noted that it was a way of the artist to encourage him to represent his own brand.
According to him to copy someone’s brand later tend to have a bad impact on your brand and thus his decision to disassociate himself from being compared to the music legend.
