Hiplife artiste, Edem has advised the media to stop pitting musicians against each other.
He says pitching musicians against each other is to blame for the insecurity among artistes and various fan bases.
Edem’s comments follow this weekend’s fracas between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Reports indicate that Stonebwoy drew a gun after Shatta Wale rushed onto the stage with his fans while the former received an award.
Stonebwoy has since apologized to Ghanaians over the incident.
Both artistes were also detained by the Accra Police Command and spent the night in police custody.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Edem said “we are in a new era where we don’t have to interview people and ask them if artiste A or artiste B; who is better? We have to change the narrative. We don’t have to compare people’s talents anymore. We just have to celebrate them.”
Meanwhile, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charter House, say they are cooperating with the Ghana Police Service in its investigations into the matter.
Head of Communications at Charter House, George Quaye on the Citi Breakfast Show said “the police invited us. We reported. When something like this happens at your event, you report it to the police and we did just that.”
“We were all invited to write our statements. We have done that and the police are looking into it so we are waiting for the outcome of that investigation,” he added.
