SOLANO COUNTY, CA – Lul G, a former SOB X RBE member, is reportedly facing 21 years in prison after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter.
According to The Vacaville Reporter, the Vallejo rapper — real name George Harris — appeared in Solano County Superior Court on Thursday (March 2) for fatally shooting a 26-year-old man over three years ago in a Fairfield home.
He was immediately found guilty by Judge Carlos R. Gutierrez, and is set to receive 21 years in prison when he’s sentenced on May 22 in Fairfield’s Justice Center.
Lul G entered his plea saying he would offer no defense after facing a first-degree murder charge on the verge of a jury trial. A previously convicted felon, he also admitted to the personal use of a firearm during the shooting.
The 24-year-old rapper avoided the possibility of being found guilty of the murder charge and receiving 25 years to life in prison with his plea, along with even more time for the firearm charge and previous felony conviction.
Court documents showed that if the case went to a jury trial, it was expected to last around four weeks.
Lul G was accused of fatally shooting Rashied Flowers on July 24, 2019 and was arrested on September 21 that year in Clark County, Nevada.
He previously pleaded not guilty at his jail arraignment on September 23, 2019. He will remain in custody at the Stanton Correctional Facility in Fairfield until he is sentenced.
Lul G was a member of California group SOB X RBE alongside Yhung T.O., DaBoii and Slimmy B until late 2018.
He went on to sign a solo deal with Def Jam Recordings and contributed to the label’s compilation album Undisputed as one of a number of young rappers who was added to its roster.
His last solo project Yhung N-gga World was released in 2017 with features from the likes of Mozzy and OMB Peezy.
