“We remain friends and wish each other every happiness,” the couple wrote in their Instagram announcement
Soap opera stars Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom are going their separate ways.
On Saturday, April 27, the As the World Turns alums announced in a collaboration Instagram post they are separating after 10 years of marriage.
“Cady and Jon here. We are taking this opportunity to make a short statement about our relationship status. It may be obvious to some based on our posts that we’ve taken some time apart,” they began.
“After serious consideration, we have decided that our goals have been taking us in different directions and to end our marriage,” McClain, 54, and Lindstrom, 66, continued. “We remain friends and wish each other every happiness.”
The former couple concluded the statement by asking for privacy at this time. “As people who work in the public eye, it can be difficult to have a private life. Regardless, we ask for your kind consideration in this matter,” they wrote.
McClain is known for her role as Dixie on All My Children. While Lindstrom, 66, is known for portraying twins Ryan Collins and Kevin Collins on General Hospital.
The former couple first met in 2010 during their time together on As the World Turns, in which he starred as Craig, and she played Rosanna. They married on Valentine’s Day 2014.
According to her Instagram posts, McClain has been traveling to New York City throughout this year, and Lindstrom has remained based in Los Angeles working on General Hospital.
Throughout their marriage, the two actors found success, with both receiving Daytime Emmy nominations for different projects. Lindstrom received three nominations for his work in 2019, 2020 and 2023. The actor also published his first novel, Hollywood Hustle, in February.
Meanwhile, McClain has also earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for producing and directing Venice the Series in 2017 and 2018, respectively. More recently, she won outstanding guest performer in a drama series for Days of Our Lives in 2021. McClain also won outstanding juvenile female in a drama series in 1990 for All My Children
Both earned nominations for their time on As the World Turns.
