Simone Biles Hits Back At Haters Criticizing Her Wedding Day Hairstyle
Simone Biles doesn’t let anyone ruin her happiness following her wedding to Jonathan Owens. While most people are happy for the 26-year-old gymnast, some others mock the new wife’s wedding day hairstyle.
For the big day, Simone styled her hair in a soft, curled ponytail. After Simone posted a slew of pictures on her Instagram account, some Internet users criticized how her edges looked as they were allegedly not being sleek enough. Some others even suggested that the Team USA Olympian should have worn a wig.
Amid the criticism, a fan defended Simone in a tweet that read, “Simone Biles is one of THEE top gymnasts we’ve ever seen, has overcame situations of abuse and other obstacles in her childhood, has defined her own success and found love and is now happily married… and yall worried about her hair?!”
Simone apparently caught wind of the drama. Responding to the fan’s tweet, the star wrote, “I think they also forgot I live in HOUSTON TEXAS & I sweat those out!! Soon as we stepped outside for pics.” She went on to downplay the criticism as she added, “But they can keep complaining idc idc idc.”
Simone Biles clapped back at haters criticizing her wedding day hairstyle.
Simone and Jonathan exchanged vows in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, April 22 after being engaged last Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022. “I do [white heart emoji] officially owens [white heart emoji] (sic),” the bride wrote alongside pictures taken by photographer Rachel Taylor.
Jonathan commented on her post, “Wifey got a great ring to it [heart and ring emojis] First day of forever [crossed fingers emoji] (sic).” The 27-year-old NFL star later shared more photos on his own Instagram page and captioned the gallery, “My person, forever [heart and ring emojis] #TheOwens #ItsOfficial (sic).”
For her wedding, Simone was stunning in a four-tiered white gown with plunging halter neckline and an open back with straps that crossed and tied at the waist. She teamed it with diamond earrings and matching pendant, open-toed strappy shoes and a white bouquet by Maggie Bailey. As for the groom, he looked dapper in a light taupe suit with white shirt, black checked belt and white loafers with silver embellishments.
