Owens joined the Chicago Bears for the 2024-2025 season after playing for the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Texans
Simone Biles was a proud wife watching her husband Jonathan Owens score his first touchdown since joining the Chicago Bears.
On Sunday, Sept. 8, the safety, 29, recovered the football during a blocked punt and sprinted toward the end zone, scoring a touchdown during his team’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Biles, 27, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) reacting to Owens’ big play at the Bears’ home opener. “I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK,” she wrote of the touchdown, responding to a post from Sunday Night Football on NBC.
“Jonathan Owens scoop and score on the blocked punt!” the sports program wrote, shouting out Biles. “How ya feeling, @Simone_Biles? đ.”
Owens’ touchdown, which was the team’s first of the season, helped the Bears narrow the Titans’ lead from 17-3 to 17-10 in the third quarter. The Bears ultimately beat the Tennessee team 24-17.
This kind of play isn’t typical for the position that Owens plays, which makes it an even more exciting moment for the couple.
Biles and her husband have both been supportive of each other’s athletic careers throughout their relationship.
The gymnast previously cheered on Owens at numerous Green Day Packers games in Packers apparel, and has said that she loves supporting him.
Meanwhile, the NFL player was able to take a couple of days off during his preseason training to watch Biles compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics last month.
