Award-winning singer and rapper Kofi Kinaata is blaming organizers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for pushing new artists into doing “senseless” songs.
Kofi Kinaata who was snubbed by VGMA this year made this allegation in a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central.
“They said we should do good music so if we are doing it and they are not minding us, the kids are also watching so they will see which songs can get awards”, he said.
The Fante rapper also said he filed for a nomination with “No Place Like Home” and “The Whole Show” but surprisingly couldn’t get a nomination in the record of the year or songwriter categories.
It’s becoming obvious that VGMA is not here to award hard working artist and good songs but they tend to place more attention on popular songs without checking the content.
If songs produced by Kofi Kinaata who is known for clean lyrics and good music are being snubbed then it’s serious.
