Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa are cooking up a mystery project together — all while trolling the rumors that there was once a feud between them.
Raisa posted photos on Instagram of the pair of old friends at a bowling alley wearing matching t-shirts that read, “No beef just salsa,” on them. The actor captioned the post, “Exciting News coming Monday…”
The upcoming collaboration officially ends those rumors that the pair have not been getting along in recent years. Raisa donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017 after the singer dealt with lupus complications. Since then, fans noticed that the two friends had drifted apart and tension seemed to be confirmed last year. Raisa responded to Gomez’s comments in an interview saying that Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry.” Raisa wrote “Interesting,” under a post that shared her interview, while Gomez replied in another post, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
After the social media back and forth, Francia Raísa said she was being “violently cyberbullied” by Selena Gomez fans. “In no way shape or form does anyone condone bullying, especially Selena,” Raísa shared with TMZ. “So the fact that now I’m being bullied as I am is messing with me mentally. It’s not what anyone wants for someone, and [Gomez] is literally out there saying ‘Please stop.’ So I don’t understand why this is happening.”
Fans also made outlandish claims that Gomez “forced” Raisa to donate her kidney, which the actor has since denied.
After that, the two squashed any type of beef between them when Gomez publicly wished Raisa a happy birthday in July. “Happiest of birthdays to this special human being,” Gomez wrote in the caption. “No matter where life takes us, I love you.”
The two were also spotted out to dinner in Los Angeles in August and posted on social media that they had accidentally worn matching shoes. Raisa captioned her Instagram Story at the time, “No beef just salsa.”
