Rapper Denning Edem Hotor popularly called ‘Edem’ has stated that if guns belonging to musicians are seized that of Ministers and other bigwigs in the country should also be seized.

According to him, musicians cannot have their weapons seized whiles big people in society have the liberty to possess them.

He indicated that if the police administration embarks on guns seizure, then nobody should be left out it must be fair in the discharge of its duties

Reggae/dancehall artiste Stonebwoy was heavily criticized after he pulled a gun which nearly marred the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

But Edem said musicians are adults and should be allowed to carry guns as a form of security protection when they go on shows fearing that they might not know who will be threatening their lives when they are on stages.

He advocated that guns which are licensed belonging to adults should not be seized because they have families and houses which need protection from criminals.

Speaking with SVTV Africa in a video interview sighted by MyNewsGh.com, he said, ‘no you be adults you have to keep a gun to protect yourself, you have a family, you have kids, you have a home, a house so it’s about protecting yourself. So I don’t see why they have to seize an adult’s gun, if that is the case then they have to seize all Ministers guns. Ministers too get guns, corporate people, big men all get guns, It’s about using it to protect yourself and your family so I mean they shouldn’t seize anybody’s gun, once its licensed’.
