Quincy Owusu Abeyie who featured prominently in the Black Stars team for 2006 and 2008 AFCON has decided to hand his boots and embark on a new career as a rapper. Surprisingly, the 33-year-old has released his first studio mixtape which goes to throw more weight behind the seriousness of his decision.
Abeyie who is now called BLOW in the music circles had his recent rap piece talk about his experience in The Netherlands and the kind of experience he had and the ex[posure he encountered.
Speaking on which he had to make a switch so quick to do music, he had this as a response: “I have thought about it for a long time.
“Now that I am releasing my first solo mixtape, I want to show the world: this is me. This is what I am doing now.
“There was no Ronald de Boer type around in our neighborhood who said ‘With football, you have a future’.
“My role models were the money makers of the block. The street men driving around in horrible cars. “That was then the s*** for me, later I grew older and I made other choices. “I hope to make the people from the neighborhood proud. First as a footballer and now as an artist.”
