Prophets publicly declare doom prophecies just to gain fame on social media – Kwaku Gyasi
Award-winning gospel musician, Kwaku Gyasi has revealed in an interview with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ show that some of the prophets in Ghana currently have been quite consistent with the dishing out of doom prophecies in their churches and publicly because they usually enjoy the cheap fame and trends on social media that is associated with it.
The ‘Ayeyi’ hitmaker made this revelation when he was responding to a question about whether or not he felt that many of the pastors have become more popular than the musicians who are even in the showbiz business. He stressed that even though these prophets will want to get the trends on social media, it is not right in any sense.
He further revealed that at the time when they were a force to reckon with on the Ghanaian gospel music scene, these sad and unfortunate developments were not there and as such he does not know what actually has caused the change we are witnessing now.
The ‘Onyame Aseda’ hitmaker also made the point that it is an unfortunate turn of event because as pastors, they are required to speak life into the church but not to always talk about death and prophecies that are doom in nature. He appealed to the prophets who are fond of these doom prophecies to try and desist from it.
