Pretty Ricky’s Baby Blue receives 20-month prison sentence in PPP loan fraud case

 

Pretty Ricky artist and former “Love and Hip-Hop” star, Baby Blue, has been dealing with a very serious legal case this year. This was a case where Blue participated in a paid protection program (PPP) fraud scheme.

Blue initially received a PPP loan of $426,717 for his company, Throwbackjersey.com LLC. This was actually used by him in order to buy lavish items, instead of using it towards these business. PPP funds in the United States were originally meant to be used for those to help their businesses that were affected by COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Blue was expected to receive a significant amount of jail time for this case, for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Now, a judge has handed down a 20-month sentence, according to Baller Alert. Blue is said to have received this sentence on December 16.

Blue also received a $708,065 payment for his other company, Blue Star Records LLC. Just luke Throwbackjersey.com LLC, he also falsified documents and other information. The Department of Justice added that Blue spent large amounts of funds on a Ferrari, and also at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, in Ft. Lauderdale.

Blue even paid $250,000 to two men who plead guilty last week to operating a PPP scam, as well. These men have been identified as James R. Stote and Philip J. Augustin. Both are based in Coral Springs, FL. They even helped Blue with his PPP operations.

Regarding funds that Blue owes, he was ordered by a judge to pay $1,111345.23 in restitution and $1,134,782 in forfeiture. In a short statement to Baller Alert, the Miami native said he believes that the sentence length handed down by the judge was “fair.”
