Having won the Best International Flow at the 2019 BET HipHop Awards, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie delivered a very touching message to the Americans.
He said: “I just want to say thank you to the Almighty God. To my family, this one is for my lil girl Titi…. I think Africa has always had it and it is about that time.
This year is the Year of Return and I will urge each and every one of you here to take a trip back home. When you’re coming to Africa, choose Ghana.”
This beautiful message has won him a ‘contract’ with the government of Ghana as he has officially been unveiled as the Ambassador for the Year of Return initiative by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Tourism.
The Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon Barbara Oteng Gyasi also honoured Sarkodie with a citation for his amazing works and promoting Ghana on the international stage.
His unveiling took place at the ongoing 2019 Ghana Creative Industry Forum at the National Theatre, Accra.
