Paulina Oduro urges female secular musicians to stay true to their dreams

Ghanaian highlife musician and actress, Paulina Oduro, has advised young ladies not to divert their talent because someone thinks that is what they should be doing.

Speaking on e.TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show’, the musician said “There is this stigma. They will call themselves gospel singers. They don’t want to go secular because people frown at them. People see them as ‘Ashawo’ and that is what I have been told,” she said.

“It’s like doing secular music makes you less of a woman or you are not good enough. Gospel is only the lyrics,” she added.

She, however, urged young ladies not to divert from secular to gospel music just to please people.
