Obiri Boahen denies drawing comparison between ‘Antoa’ deity and Rev Bempah; plans to sue blogger

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has denied media reports that claimed he had said that he trusts the Antoa deity more than he trusts Rev Owusu Bempah and his prophecies combined.

Media reports of the politician thrashing the prophecies of Rev Bempah went viral last week after the prophet had prophesied that a number of prominent Ghanaians were going to die in the year 2019.

The prophecy had an immediate backlash from the public with a local online news portal, mynewgh.com, claiming that Mr Obiri Boahen is one of the people who had trashed the prophecies of Rev Bempah.

The reports were carried on several other online portals including adomonline.com who have since pulled down the story after Mr Boahen had drawn our attention to the inaccuracies in the report.

In a telephone conversation with the politician who is also a private legal practitioner, he denied every quote that was attributed to him in the reports.

To clear his name, therefore, Mr Boahen said he was going to institute a legal suit against the portal that originally carried the story, saying, “I have vowed to sue them and I can assure you about that.

Even though Mr Boahen has not given any timelines for the legal remedies he will be seeking, the hurt in his voice suggests it may not take long before bailiffs may be knocking on the doors of mynewgh.com.

Adomonline.com will follow the developments keenly and bring same to readers every step of the way.
