Nyantakyi reports John Paintsil to the police for alleged forgery of signatures

Former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has reported former Ghana defender John Paintsil to the CID Headquarters in Accra for allegedly forging the signatures of the directors of Wa All Stars in a bid to take over the club.

The former Leicester City defender was reported to have taken over the club from Nyantakyi following his life ban from FIFA from all football related activities.

Paintsil publicly declared he is the new owner of the club and even announced a new name ‘Stallions FC’ for the club.

But the deal was truncated along the line as owners of the club declined their interest in selling the club to the former Ghana right back.

But the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach insists he has taken over the club and all assets of the club are his lawfully acquired property, despite Wa All Stars announcing they have backed out of the negotiations with Paintsil and his partners.

But the whole drama is taking a new twist as Kwesi Nyantakyi has accused John Painstil and his partners of allegedly forging his signature and that of his wife on some documents for the takeover the club.

Painstil has been invited by the Regional Police CID Unit and is expected to report on Monday 24th June 2019.

According to Mr. Nyantakyi, on 4th January 2019, one Bobby Banson acting as lawyer for Messrs John Paintsil and Richard King Atikpo sent all the relevant documents for the takeover of the club to General Manager of Wa All Stars Nana Obiri Yeboah by email for execution by shareholders and directors of the club.

The said documents were signed on 7th January 2019 and Nana Obiri Yeboah handed hard copies of the documents to John Paintsil and sent a screenshot by WhatsApp to Bobby Banson.

The forged form which has become the bone of contention dated 20th February 2019 was not part of the documents sent to Nana Obiri Yeboah by Bobby Banson.

It wasn’t part of the documents signed by directors and subscribers of Wa All Stars FC.

Other two (2) undated letters were also not part of the documents signed by directors of Wa All Stars FC.

Mr. Nyantakyi adds that no director/subscriber of Wa All Stars signed any document any other day apart from the documents listed on the email of Bobby Banson and screenshot of Nana Obiri Yeboah.

The said three(3) documents were fabricated and the signatures of the directors and subscriber of Wa All Stars were forged and presented to the Registrar of Companies by John Paintsil, Richard K Atikpo and Bobby Banson for registration as new owners of Wa All Stars FC.

Forensic experts at the CID Headquarters are expected to investigate and determine whether the signatures were genuine or forged.

The police CID with competent officers are to determine this in due course.

If it is so determined John Paintsil, Richard King Atikpo and Bobby Banson indeed forged the signatures of the directors of the club, they may face prosecution for forgery.
