Nipsey Hussle’s Family Searching For Venue To Hold Memorial Service
Millions are mourning the tragic loss of Nipsey Hussle, and while fans continue to send their condolences to his loved ones, his family is preparing for his memorial service. The rapper loved, built up, and proudly represented Los Angeles, and according to TMZ, Nipsey’s relatives are trying to find the proper venue that can accommodate the massive crowd they’re expecting.
The publication states that the family has passed on venues that house even 2,000 seats because it’s just not enough. Two of the largest Los Angeles locations are the Staples Center and The Forum in Inglewood. Considering Michael Jackson’s memorial was held at Staples, that’s a viable option.
Yesterday, the L.A. Times published an interview with Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, Nipsey’s brother. Asghedom recounted the moments he rushed to the Marathon store in Hyde Park and found his brother lying on the ground, dying. He stated that he tried reviving him while speaking to a 911 operator on the phone, hoping that the paramedics could save Nipsey’s life.
“Nip is sporadic,” Asghedom said. “Nip gonna pull up and hop up out of the Jordan Downs projects, Nickerson Gardens, in any ‘hood in L.A., Compton, Watts — solo with $150,000 of jewelry on his neck and [an] $80,000 Rolex with no security. That’s why the people loved him.”
“If somebody would’ve been there — if I would’ve been there — I would’ve shot back,” he said. “I just wish I would’ve been there.”
