Nipsey Hussle Grabs All Our Attention On This Week’s “FIRE EMOJI” Playlist

Spread the love

Tune in to our weekly mix of the biggest rap and R&B tracks.

This week’s FIRE EMOJI playlist reflects the measures taken by the artists themselves. In the wake of Nipsey’s passing, numerous artists including 88Glam and ScHoolboy Qpulled their song submissions from streaming services at the cost of spoiling their predetermined plans. But in the case of Nipsey’s tragic slaying, the gilded hip-hop community is going to be far more scrutinous when it comes to exploitation. Beyond that, there’s a good reason to believe this moratorium might do the industry some good the longer it lasts. With respect to the very conditions these artists are currently working under, we’ve decided to tread lightly as well. There’s only a small number of additions to this week’s playlist – all but one of them belongs to Nipsey Hussle. You’ve heard them before; songs like “Racks in The Middle” and “Hustle & Motivate” take center stage, while SAFE’s lead single “Paid In Full” takes the other spot.

The ever-playful Ramriddlz is also fortunate to have garnered a spot, as his latest project hit the press right before the hip hop community learned of Nipsey’s fate, through no fault of its own. On the positive, this week’s lightened load will allow you to re-explore Nipsey’s late-running works, as well as a good number of the survivors that refuse to depart from our list – the likes of which include Nimic Revenue, Rich The Kid, Yelawolf, 03 Greedo, NAV, Meek Mill, Tory Lanez, Lil West and many more.
