Nigerian literary giant, Professor Omolara Ogundipe-Leslie has died

Nigerian poet, critic, and activist Professor Omolara Ogundipe-Leslie has died.

Omolara during her active days, was known for her writings on feminism in Africa.

She died on Tuesday (June 18) at the age of 78.

President Buhari has also offered his condolence to the late writer’s family.

A statement released yesterday read:

“President Buhari sends condolences to family members, friends and professional colleagues of the cerebral scholar, literary theorist and columnist, affirming that her expositions on gender consciousness, inclusivity and culture will always be relevant in planning for development in the country.”
