After being arrested earlier today for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California, Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty pleaded not guilty at his first court appearance.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed to The Shade Room that Kenneth Petty was ordered released on a $100,000 bond following his appearance.
Per the conditions of Kenneth’s release, he will have to wear an ankle monitor and he was forced to hand over his passport. According to officials, his travel is now restricted to Southern California and TMZreports that he will also have a curfew.
His next court date in this case has been scheduled for April 28th.
To catch you up on this case, we reported earlier today that Kenneth had turned himself in to U.S. Marshals, which stemmed from a previous arrest.
Kenneth moved to California in July 2019. He was reportedly pulled over in Beverly Hills back in November, which was when authorities discovered he had not yet registered as a sex offender in the state, which is legally required of him.
He was arrested and released on a $20,000 bond but the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office charged him for failing to register.
Because he did not follow up with the court to register, he was arrested today. If convicted, Kenneth could receive up to 10 years in prison.
