Nicki Minaj Threatens To File Counter Lawsuit After Being Sued Over ‘I Lied’ Plagiarism
Nicki Minaj makes sure that no one will play with her. After she’s sued for allegedly stealing the beat for her song “I Lied” from another artist, the “Super Freaky Girl” hitmaker took to Twitter to respond to the matter.
Quote-retweeting TMZ’s tweet about the lawsuit, Nicki fired back, “Do I make beats?” She went on to say, “You first on the list dummy.”
In other posts, Nicki threatened to sue those who kept spreading lies regarding her and her husband Kenneth Petty. Of claims that she “gifted her husband a ‘Big Sleeze’ chain,” Nicki said, “This is a blatant lie. Would you like to be added to the list of blogs making up random stories, not FAQ checking & getting sued too, boo? So far there are 5.”
“B/c they got so used to playin with me. We got AWL the screenshots from a few days ago of ppl who were PAID to post fake stories. Awwww,” she added in a separate tweet. “PLUS ALL THE PROOF WE COULD EVER HOPE FOR ON WHO MADE THOSE FAKE CALLS. yikesssss. Wait til y’all hear WHAT THEY SAID!!!!!”

TMZ previously revealed that Nicki faced a lawsuit in which she and mega producer Mike Will Made It” were accused by Julius Johnson of ripping off beats for “I Lied”. Julius claimed that the music playing under the vocals on Nicki’s track from “The Pinkprint” sounded like a carbon copy of a song he created years before she dropped “I Lied”.
In the docs, Julius claimed he had the beat on a hard drive when he attended the Art Institute of Atlanta, adding that the hard drive was taken from a studio session without his consent back in 2013. According to Julius, associates of Nicki and Mike Will Made It were present at the Institute around the same time and got their hands on his missing hard drive.
A source close to the Trinidadian femcee, however, claimed that the mom of one didn’t have anything to do with the beats. “Clearly Nicki is a lyricist, so the claim in terms of production will obviously have to be addressed by the applicable parties,” the source told the news outlet.
