Contrary to reports rapper Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been released on bail, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says he is still in custody.
This was after a video emerged online showing Naira Marley walking uncuffed and unguided by security while going into a private car, with captions sending signals to many that he has been released amidst the court ruling.

But the anti-graft agency has debunked the reports and slammed persons making mischevious moves.
Speaking in an interview with SaharaReporters, a top source in the EFCC said the video was mere propaganda by friends of the musician who are desperate to launder his image.
The embattled musician appeared before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday, May 20, 2019, on 11 count charge bordering on cybercrime, possession of counterfeit cards and conspiracy to obtain gain.

After the charges were read to him in the presence of Justice Nicholas Oweibo, he pleaded ‘not guilty’.
Naira Marley was remanded in Ikoyi prison until 30th May when the hearing of his bail application will take place.
