MICHAEL JACKSON’S NEPHEW TAJ THANKS WILL SMITH FOR SLAPPING CHRIS ROCK
Michael Jackson’s nephew Taj Jackson has thanked Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars after the comedian dissed his family years.
On Monday (March 6), Jackson hopped on Twitter to give his thoughts on Chris Rock’s new Netflix comedy special titled Selective Outrage that aired over the weekend. In his routine, Rock took aim at the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, and several other big-name celebrities such as Elon Musk, Meghan Markle and more.
According to Taj Jackson, Chris Rock’s special was nothing but another form of bullying, and he’s had enough of it, especially when he cracked jokes on his deceased uncle just minutes into the show.
“Chris Rock has used my family as punching bags for his entire career. Yet I am supposed to feel bad for him getting slapped and humiliated on the Oscars,” Taj Jackson wrote. “After seeing a new clip of him attacking my dead uncle in the first minutes of his ‘Retaliation-I’m still relevant ‘special, I have 3 things to say.
“1. What did my family ever do to you to warrant these decades of harassment and your constant bullying disguise as jokes? 2. Just because you were bullied early on in life doesn’t give you the excuse to bully others now. 3. Thank you Will Smith.?”

Chris Rock has used the Jackson family name as the butt of his jokes for years, and he’s come under fire from die-hard fans because of it. His special also received some slack from fans who weren’t feeling his Netflix special, where he finally addressed the infamous slap from a year ago.
Many alleged that the comedian was tokenizing himself to his white counterparts. At the same time, other social media users claimed the Selective Outrage special being filmed in Jada Pinkett Smith’s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, wasn’t by coincidence.
“Chris rock really said he didn’t fight back cuz he has parents lmao. so I guess it implies that will doesn’t, which sounds like the fatherless black child trope which sounds like a white person,” tweeted one fan while another said: “Chris Rock chose to do his standup in my hometown of Baltimore – a city where he has absolutely no connections – when he could’ve easily sold out in his hometown of NYC. Baltimore is also Jada Pinkett Smiths hometown! Ya’ll keep thinking it’s just jokes.”
One of the jokes that addressed the slap had Chris Rock reveal that Will Smith inspired the name of the special. According to the comedian, Will directed his anger over Jada’s “entanglements” toward him which led to the slap heard around the world.
“Will Smith practices ‘Selective Outrage,’” Rock explained. “Everybody who really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that shit. I didn’t have any ‘entanglements.’ His wife was fucking her son’s friend. I normally would not talk about this shit…
“I have no idea why two talented people would do something that fucking lowdown,” he continued. “We’ve all been cheated on. Everybody in here been cheated on. None of us has ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us… on television. She hurt him way more than he hurt me.”
