Multiple award-winning Ghanaian artiste, Okyeame Kwame, who was among the many top celebrities hired by gold-dealership company Menzgold as brand ambassadors, has declined to respond to questions pertaining to matters arising from freeze on customers’ deposits.
As one of the men who endorsed the activities of Menzgold across all media platforms – national television, radio, online and on billboards – Okyeame Kwame was expected to deny or confirm if he had led Ghanaians on a wrong path given his ambassadorial role.
He met on TV3’s New Day with Johnnie Hughes.
But Okyeame Kwame would not answer.
Okyeame Kwame said he would rather organise a press conference to engage the media and answer questions regarding his engagement with Menzgold, but that will be “at the right time” because “the issue is with the police”.
The press conference, he said, however, will be at his own appointed time but not on a forum as TV3’s New Day which will not offer him enough time to tell the whole story.
He also noted: “The issue is a sensitive issue”.
Meanwhile, the Rap Dacta is working around the clock towards the ‘Year of Return, Ghana’,which the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, launched in Washington, D.C., in September 2018 for Africans in the Diaspora to return home.
As an integral part of some activities marking the occasion, Okyeame Kwame, said he has collaborated with famous Jamaican reggae musician, Sizzla Kalonji, on a song, which will be released later in the year.
He also added that he is working together with some chiefs who have allocated some lands around Cape Coast for interested Ghanaian returnees to own a piece of Ghana.
Ahead of that, he has put out a joint song and music video with Afriyie Wutah. The song details Akan culture.
