Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s invite to King declined just days before Lilibet’s princess title announcement

Royal author Omid Scobie writes in his new book Endgame that the King turned down the invite due to a “scheduling conflict”.

Lilibet’s princess title was announced just days later in a statement confirming she had been christened.

The statement from a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

This was the first time Princess Lilibet’s royal title had been used publicly.

GB News exclusively revealed that the statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex contained a glaring error.

The Archbishop of Los Angeles is Most Reverend José H. Gomez, who is a Catholic Bishop and did not christen Lilibet.

John Harvey Taylor is the Bishop of Los Angeles in the Diocese of Los Angeles of the Episcopal Church.

GB News contacted the Sussexes for clarification, and it was confirmed the Anglican Bishop christened Lilibet.

In Omid Scobie’s new royal book, titled Endgame, he claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s communication with the King is “infrequent”.

He added the couple “still keep him [King Charles] in the loop on their family life, sending new photos of the children.”

However, this month Prince Harry sent his father a video of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet singing him a message to mark his 75th birthday.

Meghan Markle also spoke to the King on the phone on his birthday.
