Meek Mill Calls Out ‘Algorithm Powered’ Fame, Says He’s Going To ‘Create Waves’ Independently

Meek Mill has said his forthcoming music will be among some of his most successful, and he’s planning on taking over the airwaves without the help of algorithms.

On Wednesday (August 24), the Dream Chasers head honcho hopped on Twitter to let fans know he wants to prove artists don’t need a big machine behind them to have a prosperous career.

“Ima show the people the difference from algorithm powered lime light vs being lit in real life and really can create waves ‘yourself’ off anything you do!” he tweeted.

Meek added: “And how rich/wealthy you really suppose to get off of your own creativity and resources having this type level at hand reach.”

Meek Mill’s message comes after recently announcing he was leaving JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Management. The Philly rhymer entered into a joint venture deal between his Dream Chasers label and Roc Nation in 2019.

Fans thought Meek Mill had issues with the company after he voiced his frustarations about a certain label that hadn’t given him the money he deserved.

Meek later took to Twitter to clear the air and explain there’s no bad blood between him and Hov’s company, and he simply wanted to branch out and level up on his own.

“I’m personally handling my own business so I can take risk and grow ..we came to that agreement together,” he wrote. “I have a label deal with roc for my artist and I got reform super tied with them and many other investments wit jigga.”

Meek Mill’s next chapter is already underway having announced a strategic partnership with WME Talent Agency earlier in August, which aims to “bring resources and opportunities” to his network of artists, athletes and entertainers.

On the music side of things, Meek announced last month he’d be dropping some new material starting in August to honor the anniversary of his father’s death. The rapper wrote on Twitter that by the fall, he plans to flood the streets with 10 independent mixtapes.

“10 tapes independently starting September,” he wrote. “New music dropping AUGUST 18 the day my dad died is when I start wylinnnnnnn again. I’m not dropping albums on Friday either!”

Although Meek announced he would be dropping new music on August 18, nothing has yet materialized. He did, however, preview a few new cuts earlier in the month, including one that flips a classic Big Pun joint.
